So there’s a new fad that’s trending across social network channels and youtube called the #KylieJennerChallenge
Model Kylie Jenner, the 18 year old sister of Kim Kardashian has become renowned for her fuller lips, and it seems many youngsters are really wanting to achieve this look.
Allegedly the young model had used lip injections herself to achieve this look and the worry is she may be inspiring our future generation to do the same. Currently the challenge circulating online is to duplicate this look by sucking into shot glasses and small glasses to gain this pout look. Are teenagers taking this a bit too far? Tell me what you think!
Lady Gaga usually surpasses our expectations with an array of weird and wonderful clothes. This time round she really failed to deliver, with a boring white number and what looks like washing up gloves she forgot to remove after doing the dishes.
Nicole Kidman in Louis Vuitton
4/10
Bit of a miss with this one. Doesn’t have the wow factor, and we’re not quite sure why the dress is shiny – it doesn’t add anything to it. The dress is shapeless and the leg slit looks a bit pointless. The red belt looks completely random, it would’ve looked a bit better matched with a red clutch and red lipstick. Kiera Knightly in Valentino
6/10
Not impressed by this Valentino number. Kind of looks like Kiera Knightly dressed up for a 6 year old’s birthday party and at some point fell out of a tree.
Jennifer Lopez in Elie Sab
6/10
Although I’m a big fan of the nude dress, this one isn’t the best I’ve ever seen. Jennifer Lopez looks absolutely stunning and the color of her outfit is very complimenting – but that’s as far as I like it. The dress puffs out too much and the neckline is way too low.
LOVE IT!
Jennifer Aniston Versace
10/10
In my eyes Jennifer Ansiton can do no wrong. Love the nude dress! Subtle but demure. Take note Nicole Kidman – this is how a slit in the dress looks amazing!
Emma Stone in Elie Saab
8/10
I do like this piece by Elie Saab. I think the outfit is unique, it is dazzling and the color and sparkle is interesting. I think it matches up great with Emma’s hair color and lippy! reminds me a little bit of flapper fashion.
Rita Ora in Marchesa
7/10
I am not usually a fan of wearing black on the red carpet but I think Rita Ora pulled this one out of the bag. It looks very classic and the shape compliments her figure.
Although it is a horrendous outfit, Madonna never fails to shock and amuse. Although any feedback given on this outfit seems to be negative- at least our Material Girl knows how to turn the other cheek.
Pharrell Williams and his wife, Helen Lasichanh
4/10
Great on the matching color, but everything else is completely wrong. Pharrel matches a bow tie with shorts and trousers, doing absolutely nothing for him. Whereas his wife Helen looks like shes gone to the gym and forgot her trainers.
Rihanna
5/10
Pretty in pink? More like painfully puffy! This over the top number by Giambattista Valli resembles something you would dress Barbie the princess edition in. Is it red carpet material? You could argue that it is; flamboyant and OTT, it definitely makes an impact.
Thumbs up. Say yes to the dress!
Katy Perry
10/10
Katy Perry really pulled the cat out of the bag with this Zuhair Murad dress. It looks effortlessly Chic and suits her well; the purple hair also gives her an edge.
Gwen Stefani
9/10
Gwen Stefani looks sophisticated and sassy in this gorgeous black jumpsuit. Although it is typical to wear a dress to the Grammy’s this Hollaback girl breaks the rules and this outfit works very much in her favor.
Lady Gaga
8/10
OK. So Lady Gaga has got a lot of stick from the press in regards to her choice of wear with some even suggesting she was inspired by tin foil. I however love this outfit! I think Lady Gaga was dressed to impress in this Brandon Maxwell outfit with gorgeous matching hair.
Here at bored wives club we’ve been discussing the recent hype to hit instagram. The #freethenipple campaign- a picture protest against Instagrams no breast policy. Opposing the restrictions on female nudity, the movement retaliates against the photo upload rules governed by social media. Essentially women across the world are purposefully posting topless pics to challenge these guidelines.
Scout Willis, daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, sparked universal support and awareness in the movement when an image of her was removed from Instagram. Prompting the outraged 22 year old to practice her own #freethenipple stunt by taking a walk through New York with her top half well and truly uncovered. Scout Willis has spoken out about her views by maintaining “No woman should be made to feel ashamed of her body.”
Feeling liberated many other celebs began to jump on the no bra’s allowed train. Those that have dared to bare include the likes of Cara Delivigne and Rihanna – instigating further debate on whether censorship rules are behind the times or simply furthering divides within gender inequalities. Are these guidelines in place to protect the female form or to suppress freedom of speech?
Perhaps we should start to celebrate a women’s figure rather than censor it. A female should have the right to express herself and take ownership of her own body. The fashion world seems to have the right idea with London Fashion Week making it popular on the catwalk to expose your décolletage.
What do you think of the #savethenipple campaign? Is it time to burn the bras ladies?
