I’ve recently come back from a holiday where I forced myself to combat a fear of heights to go zip lining with my family. It took a lot of persuasion for me to face my fear, and in the end I was so grateful that I had put stepped out of my comfort zone because I had an amazing time. It really got me thinking that the element of fear really prohibits us from expanding on life experiences. I know for sure that I have previously not done things because I’ve been a little afraid of the possible consequences. There’s been times where I wish I said something to be noticed, or said something to stick up for myself – all because of being fearful of the embarrassment it may cause. I think fear prevents you from doing many things in life, but what are you really afraid of? I’ve started off a little mantra in my head to get me through the things I’m scared of, this is the only reason I threw myself off those trees and zip lined through the forest – today I’m going to share this mantra with you and hopefully you will do something out of your comfort zone today! FEAR is not a WALL, FEAR is but an OBSTACLE. Once I started to believe that fear was only a hurdle that I needed to jump over not a concrete wall that would hurt me – I began to embrace it. I accepted the adrenaline the fear gave me and went for it all guns blazing. Fear is an obstacle. Think of it as a worthy opponent that you have to defeat, and believe me once you get over that hurdle you will be so ecstatic it’s unreal. Face a Fear Today. Love BWC xoxo
Sometimes ambitions we used to hold very dear turn into distant dreams. The longer time passes by, the less likely we are to ever achieve these goals- especially if motivation is lacking. Humans have an inherent ability to settle – you find a good paying job that is stable but not rewarding and you are likely to stay. You meet a man who makes you feel reasonably secure but lacks a physical connection- you will still most likely stay. We’ve been taught that quitting things is bad, if you decide to abandon something it means you have failed. But removing yourself from something that is making you unhappy isn’t failing – it is actually very progressive – it means you have recognized that you want something different and have the determination to do something about it. Reflection is the first step to reaching your potential – reflecting on what you have, what you want and lastly how you’re going to get it. You want a change in your life? You’re going to have to make it happen. You’ve probably heard that ‘good things come to those who wait’, I say that is a load of old rubbish – if you want something go after it right now – nothing is going to fall into your lap if you don’t seek opportunities around you.
In order to have a fulfilling and happy life you need to listen to yourself and figure out what will help propel you in you endeavors. There are certain steps you can take to organize your mind and learn what it is that can potentially change your life for the better.
As I’ve previously mentioned- reflection is the key. Take an afternoon to yourself where you shut yourself off from the world and think! Maybe turn on some relaxing music, make a nice hot cup of coffee and get a notepad – start writing everything down! A brainstorm is always a good place to start – write down everything that comes to mind – things that you’ve done, thing’s that you wish you had done! Before you know it you will have a vague idea of where to start. Think about everything you have done in your life, everything you’re doing now, and everything you would like to do.
Now that you have a better understanding of what you want – begin to contemplate on how you’re going to get it. So, for example, you want to teach children to swim at the local leisure center? Go look up the course you need to qualify and APPLY! Literally, the first step to reaching your full potential is to START DOING WHAT YOU WANT. Don’t just talk about it, but actually go for it.
A hurdle you will have to get over is change. When you commit to change you need to embrace it. You need to be sure of yourself and your abilities in order to feel comfortable doing new. Remember that nervousness can easily transpire into excitement – feed that energy into your ventures. A change in life will inspire a change in you – and most importantly – for the better. People love to be surrounded by others who are pro-active and have new things to talk about – well done! That person is now you, enjoy it!

It’s Spring! Yay! Flowers are blossoming, birds are singing, and life is well and truly beginning! Wow, I’m full of happiness and charm today. So ready for a change in season. As of the 20th of March we are officially in Spring – that only calls for one thing: A Spring Clean!
An old tradition that begs the phrase, out with the old in with the new! It’s time to bring your house in order and start packing up all those winter belongings. I tend to follow a certain way of organizing myself this time of year, and I thought I would share it with you.
1. Firstly, begin by organizing the clutter that is visible. Does everything look slightly misplaced at the moment? Box it! Find a place for everything that is looking rather disorderly at the moment. I usually begin with cosmetics and toiletries here then when I’m working on the kids rooms the next thing to go is the toys- throw away stuff that isn’t used, and sort out the things you want to keep. Don’t be sentimental, be strict with what needs to go!
2. Now it’s time for the big clean. Arm yourself with with cleaning supplies and rubber gloves and get rid of any dirt or dust that seems to have made itself at home. Go forth and clean!
3. Cupboards! This may seem like something you can put off – but believe me you will seriously thank yourself for tidying in places you can’t see. Take everything out you have stored throw out what you don’t need, replace what you do.
3. Organize your paperwork. Your study seems to have gone through it’s own World War Three and it’s high time you get your things in order. Now that your things have all been put away neatly, you can focus on the mountain pile of letters, envelopes, loose notes and diaries.
4. Clothes! This is the fun part – go through wardrobes and see what you have outgrown and outworn and pack it up to be sent to the closest charity shop. Once you have determined what goes and what stays – you can then begin packing up your winter coats into storage, and get your spring/summer collection out.
5. Clean! I know we’ve already done this, but go over the house one last time. Focusing particularly on surfaces, floors, windows and doors 🙂 This doesn’t need to be as intense as step one, but it’s always worth going around one last time to make sure everything really is spick and span.
6. You’ve worked so hard, your muscles are aching, your hairs in knots and your pretty sure you now permanently smell of bleach. Go have a shower, get yourself looking your best and go pick up some home decor to add that finishing touch to all your hard work. Get some pretty vases and flowers and put them around the house to brighten each room. Well done you!

Today’s post is all about projecting positivity from the inside out. Usually it is an internal battle that disallows you from seeing things from a positive perspective > spurred on from external influences. In order to begin feeling happier within yourself, you need to train your brain to think a certain way – remembering that you cannot always change your situation but you can begin to learn how to change the way you react to things. The key lesson to learn here is – if you can’t change your circumstance, change your attitude.
Here is a 6 step guide to Positive Thinking!
1. Don’t Indulge Negative Thoughts
If you find yourself feeling hopeless about something, try not to dwell on it. Accept that you are feeling the way you are and try to find an immediate solution on how to make yourself feel better then and there. The first step to progress is acceptance – talk yourself up rationally. If something’s happened to create a feeling of upset, acknowledge that it is a natural feeling for you to feel sad about it, then let it go! You could even say it out loud ‘I know that I am feeling sad about this, I accept that it is normal, I have decided I will not allow myself to continue obsessing – thank you for giving me the strength to let go’
2. Say YES!
Replace negative thoughts with positive ones. Rather than thinking ‘I can’t’ say ‘I can.’ If you tell yourself YES with conviction you will begin to believe it. Channel your inner determination and fight to stay motivated.
It is common knowledge that smiling makes you feel instantly better – even if you are forcing yourself to. When I was a fair bit younger I worked in a call center where there were actual signs that said ‘Smile while you dial!’ – when your smiling you will find your body language and tone of voice will change – confidence always peaks when your smiling.
4. Do Something You Enjoy
I know when your not feeling yourself it’s very easy to slot into the thought process that nothing could possibly make you feel happy. Try to refrain from this type of thinking. For example if you aren’t feeling like going to the gym today, force yourself to go – I guarantee you once your doing your favorite yoga class you will be feeling much better that you didn’t just stay indoors sulking.
5. Listen to Music
If your really feeling down, put on a song that will make you happy. Music helps channel and change your emotions! Music is a quick and sure remedy that will help balance out any negative thought.
6. Speak to a Close Friend
The old saying rings true here ‘A problem shared is a problem halved’. Pick up the phone, go meet your friend, you can share whatever it is your feeling and your friend can help you work through it – that’s what friends are for!
7. Tell Yourself You Love Yourself
Say it! Say it now! ‘I Love Myself’ Say it over and over again. In a little while you’ll probably even have a little giggle to yourself – yeah it may sound silly, but your saying it, and you will begin to mean it! I LOVE MYSELF!

It’s hard to believe how fast this year is going – we’re in March already for heavens sake! I don’t know about you, but for all intent and purposes I feel like my New Years resolutions are long forgotten and destitute. I’ve got that panicked ‘where is the year gone!’ feeling, not only that but ‘where is this year going!’
I’ve been feeling a little uninspiring and that isn’t ever a great place to be. I’ve set myself the task to bring about some more positive thoughts to replace any uncertainty of my feelings. Positive thinking is contagious and when you’re around someone happy it immediately makes you smile 🙂 I’ve set up a list of motivational quotes to get myself and you inspired! Spring has nearly sprung so let’s breathe new life into 2015 and mentally prepare for a happier healthier you!
1. “The great thing in this world is not so much where you stand, as in what direction you are moving.”
2. “The difference between a successful person and others is not lack of strength not a lack of knowledge but rather a lack of will.”
3. “I am not a product of my circumstances. I am a product of my decisions.”
4. “Talent is given, greatness is earned” -Lebron James
5. “Good things come to people who wait, but better things come to those who go out and get them.” – Anonymous
6. “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” – Thomas A. Edison
7. “The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.” – Anonymous
8. “The starting pointing of all achievement is desire” – Napolean Hill
9. “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I, I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.” – Robert Frost
10. “Life isn’t about getting and having, it’s about giving and being.” –Kevin Kruse
11. “You can never cross the ocean until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore.” – Christopher Columbus
12. “If the wind will not serve, take to the oars.” – Latin Proverb
13. “A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.” – Albert Einstein
14. “The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person who is doing it.” –Chinese Proverb
15. “I have learnt over the years that when one’s mind is made up, this diminishes fear.” – Rosa Parks
16. “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.” – Vivian Greene
‘RING RING RING RING RING’ sounds the alarm. Wake up you hot mess!
The alarm clock is a bastard, your husbands a bastard, the radio is a bastard the damn kettle is a bastard.. the coffee… ohhh the coffee is all that you’ve ever wanted, all that you’ve been dreaming of. Mmmm… coffee…
I’m sorry to break it to you hunny, but you a Class A Coffee Addict. You cannot hide it, and you certainly cannot function without it. You love the brewing, the smell of the coffee beans dissolving in the hot liquid, the milkiness of the milk. The entire process awakens your senses and makes you feel alive! The day ahead suddenly feels a lot more manageable because you are alert and in control.
You are a force to be reckoned with.
Fast forward 2 hours and you are feeling a lot different. The world is against you, everything is too loud and you are annoyed by the sound of your own breathing. Coming down from caffeine isn’t so pretty. You may experience a headache, you may be feeling lethargic and your mood will have significantly dwindled.
What caffeine actually does:
Caffeine is a stimulant which can be found in drinks like coffee, tea and fizzy drinks. It works by blocking receptors in your brain that are responsible for feelings of tiredness. In small doses it will stimulate your mental ability- improving things like concentration skills. You will be able to work a little better and a little faster. However, excessive caffeine consumption can make you feel confused and anxious. Limiting the amount of coffee or energy drinks you consume will make it less likely to develop a caffeine addiction. Caffeine is linked to a number of health risks such as high blood pressure, insomnia and indigestion.
Try to watch the amount of caffeinated drinks you expose your body to, as it could be having a very adverse reaction on your health.

It’s Sunday and the doctor has ordered some relaxation. Steer clear of the housework and disable your alarm clock- today you have scheduled absolutely nothing.
My plan for Sunday is as follows:
I have intentionally disabled all alarms in the house- my body clock will naturally wake me up early anyway- but I want to give my body the best possible chance to catch up on some well needed ZzZzZz When your feeling a little overworked it is important to let your body sleep as long as it has to in order to recover.
It’s time to get my stretch on! I am going to give myself 20 minutes of exercises to give my body a good start to the day. I’ve subscribed to a couple of youtubers with excellent yoga for beginners techniques and I’m going to give them a try today. I’ve already bought myself a yoga mat and some yoga pants to give it a go.
Prepare your Sunday roast the night before, and all you will need to do is reheat it and steam some vegetables. Make a luscious gravy and hey presto- sorted! It’s not quite a Sunday without a roast.
Sunday is a good day to relax by the television with a cup of hot chocolate and the whole family.
I’d say today will make for a pretty productive day!

Congratulations. You’ve made it to Friday people! It’s been a long and very cold week. It has been snowing all over the UK and you can really feel the chill. Now, with the freeze comes a few unwanted things, such as feeling cold and chapped lips! We’ve got the perfect winter warmers to get you in fighting shape this winter!
1. A hot cuppa
Drink plenty of warm liquids to keep yourself hydrated and warm. Now stick the kettle on and have yourself a hot cuppa. Or if tea and coffee aren’t to your taste, it’s never too late for a glass of mulled wine!
2. Hot broth
It’s the season of soup. Keep your energies up with some nutritious soups to keep you going. They are simple and cheap to make and a healthy lunch option.
3. Keep moisturized
Make sure you are using a product that lubricates and hydrates for the best effect. A good preventative measure for dry skin and chapped lips.
4. Take supplements to ward of colds and flus
The top supplements to take during the winter are Vitamin C and Zinc to ensure your immune system has a boost- this will be your shield from catching any illnesses. Echinacea and Garlic are also known for helping ward of the common cold- so if you’re feeling a little off color these may just do the trick!
5. Dress appropriately.
Make sure you have at least 2 pairs of the following:
– Boots that can withstand rain and frost
– Good pair of thick socks
The cold is not an excuse to stop exercising. If I can give you one piece of good advice this winter it is to keep up an exercise routine. Exercise can prevent you from getting unwell. Staying active will ensure your body is working at its optimal strength and you will be healthier in general due to sustaining a healthier lifestyle. Join the gym or go to a class. If that’s not an option you can always exercise at home watching youtube videos or by downloading an app!
Now go enjoy the weekend & Wrap up!

It is both a blessing and a curse that as women we have a deeper emotional connection with ourselves and those around us. Females are more consciously aware of their feelings and not just that- better at expressing them. In a social context our thoughts and interactions are sometimes fueled by emotion, or a bunch of emotions at one time. We are able to summon up feelings of anger almost simultaneously with feelings of forgiveness- and this ability to feel more than one thing at once and distinguish between each emotion is a mature intelligence.
But sometimes we may become entrapped by our own thoughts, with a tunnel vision that feels endless and inescapable. In times like this it is key to acknowledge that your mind is a tool- and it will behave in whichever way we will it to. Whenever you loose the will to do things remember it is of your choosing and that also means you can choose to think and act a different way. We can be our own worst enemy at times and the self-realization of this is the first step to releasing your fears and demons and bringing you one step closer to fulfilling your dreams. Here’s a quick step guide to Emotional Freedom.
1. Reverse Pessimism.
A negative attitude is always going to hold you back. Change ‘I can’t do this’ into ‘I will do this’ and you will begin to see that you CAN do it.
2. Love You.
Forget the three words that bring a smile on your face – I love you is out and LOVE YOU is in. You must, must, must Love YOU! I cannot stress the emotional impact and value loving yourself will have on you as a person. Focus on reasons why you are amazing, never let yourself dwell on reasons you are not.
3. Forget what others think.
Remember that what you think is the most important thing. Do not allow others to pass judgement onto you- you do NOT need anybodies approval. Yes it’s nice when somebody agrees with you but it is not a necessity- if you follow your heart you will begin to notice that those who may have disagreed with you in the first place have quickly done a 180° and are now right behind you.
4. Say NO to Compulsive Thinking.
A very smart lady once told me that you are not responsible for your first thought, only your second. You may have an irritable thought that just keeps coming back into your head that is not positive- maybe you keep dwelling on a recent fight- this is BAD projection- instead- acknowledge the thought, accept you may be feeling like this, then LET IT GO! Do not obsess- simply acknowledge, accept, and move on.
5. Let go of hatred.
Forget anything you’ve ever learnt about anger, revenge, grudges. Just forget them in their entirety. It is not in your best interest to draw out a battle- why use your emotional resource on something that has no benefit to you whatsoever? Hating someone is exhausting, if there is no way to resolve a fight then just allow these negative thoughts to leave you and get on with the rest of your life. Believe it or not, being the bigger person makes you appear STRONGER not weaker.
6. Live for today.
I’m going to be a little bit cheesy here, but I believe it is completely appropriate 🙂
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift; thats why they call it the present.

I am glued to my phone. Literally and unequivocally stuck to it. My face has some sort of gravitational pull towards my spanking new iPhone 6 as my fingers delicately trace the multi touch screen with sensual ease- as though playing the keys of a grand piano in the middle of a mystical forest with a waterfall backdrop… STOP! This is not the start of a fantasy novel – it is merely the obsessive tendencies towards modern mobile phone technology- and it has got to end!
According to a recent study by mobileinsurance.com the average person spends an approximate of 90mins on their phone each day. That is 23 days a year and 3.9 years of an average persons life.
3.9 YEARS! That is astounding.
I can think of many more more useful things I could do with 3.9 years. I could have another baby, get a Masters Degree, begin a new career, learn to scuba dive, break in a horse, make my own wine, breed a Siamese cat, get a friggen PILOT LICENCE.
That’s it. I’m putting away my phone and learning to fly.
