Throughout the monarchy of Queen Elizabeth II the face of British coins has been updated 4 times over the course of her 63 – year reign. Now Mint engraver Jody Clark has designed the fifth coin.



In this new image it is unvieled that she is wearing the royal diamond diadem crown from when she had her coronation. The artist spoke of his inspiration by saying  “I think it’s the most familiar and I wanted to make some clear distinctions between the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS, as Her Majesty really hasn’t aged too much in the years since.”
