I’m sorry to break it to you hunny, but you a Class A Coffee Addict. You cannot hide it, and you certainly cannot function without it. You love the brewing, the smell of the coffee beans dissolving in the hot liquid, the milkiness of the milk. The entire process awakens your senses and makes you feel alive! The day ahead suddenly feels a lot more manageable because you are alert and in control.

You are a force to be reckoned with.

Fast forward 2 hours and you are feeling a lot different. The world is against you, everything is too loud and you are annoyed by the sound of your own breathing. Coming down from caffeine isn’t so pretty. You may experience a headache, you may be feeling lethargic and your mood will have significantly dwindled.

Caffeine is a stimulant which can be found in drinks like coffee, tea and fizzy drinks. It works by blocking receptors in your brain that are responsible for feelings of tiredness. In small doses it will stimulate your mental ability- improving things like concentration skills. You will be able to work a little better and a little faster. However, excessive caffeine consumption can make you feel confused and anxious. Limiting the amount of coffee or energy drinks you consume will make it less likely to develop a caffeine addiction. Caffeine is linked to a number of health risks such as high blood pressure, insomnia and indigestion.

Try to watch the amount of caffeinated drinks you expose your body to, as it could be having a very adverse reaction on your health.
