Today’s topic of conversation here at Bored Wives is the UK Marriage and Adultery report, released today and commissioned by married dating site IllicitEncounters.com.

According to the results a staggering 1 out of 3 people admit they have married the wrong person, another interesting fact revealed more than 1 in 10 people believed allowing their partner to have any affair would improve their marriage and strengthen their relationship.

It is undisputable that finding out your partner has been doing the dirty behind your back can be a devastating revelation, however taking into account the findings of the report it has got us thinking about how those 34% of people who deem their marriage a mistake might actually benefit from an infidelity. Could a jilted spouse be awakened to the prospect of their relationship failing and try to fix it? Could the cheating spouse realise the error of their ways and try to salvage their relationship? Maybe that 1 out of 3 people when faced with their partners’ adultery actually realise that maybe they have married the right person after all and simply forgotten their value?

Stars like David Boreanaz, married to one time playmate Jaime Bergman, had previously described his relationship post-infidelity as ‘a bonding experience, in the long run’. The Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie, married to Josh Duhamel, similarly attained “When you go through difficult times, it really makes you stronger as a unit, as a partnership. It does for us, anyways. Our love today is a deeper love, definitely,”

So over to you ladies… would an affair break you or make you?
